Check the fuel cap: If the fuel cap is loose or damaged, it can trigger the check engine light. Tighten the fuel cap or replace it if necessary. Check for other warning lights: If there are other warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, such as the oil pressure light or temperature gauge, address those issues first. Check for any obvious issues: Look for any visible problems, such as a damaged hose or low fluid levels.
